Hatha Yoga is the branch of Yoga that involves a set of physical postures and breathing techniques. In this practice, we work with our body and mind to find balance and awareness. Hatha Yoga aims to prepare the practitioner for meditation. This is why Hatha Yoga in India is considered a preparatory process for higher forms of yoga. The word Hatha can be separated into two words. "Ha" symbolises the sun, while "Tha" references the moon, meaning that when we are practising Hatha, we seek balance between these two polarised forces within us.
Currently classes are held on Saturday - 1:30 - 2:30 Sunday - 11:10 - 12:10
Eddie's perspective on the benefits of yoga:
For me, yoga is the tool I use to pause, reflect, and to gain awareness of what I need from myself. It is a powerful way of getting to know me and nurturing me. I like to use my practice as a gift; an offering to my body to help me understand it and what it needs. It is an opportunity to express my self-love and remind me that I deserve love.
I believe all this is especially important if you have well-settled habits of being hard on yourself. Yoga can be your best friend when re-aligning bad habits to better ones, in practising being there for yourself, and in finding a healing sense of belonging.
